In response to the needs of our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, Fight Parkinson’s has got involved with Get on Line Week.
Staying connected to your support network is so important to living well with Parkinson's and we want to support you to connect with friends and family, stay safe online, learn how to better use your devices, and find reliable health information.
We are holding lots of COVID-Safe information sessions online to help you stay connected with the Parkinson's community and important health information.

How to HOST your first Zoom meeting: The Basics
Monday 19 October

You've been enjoying Zoom-ing as a participant. Now you'd like to HOST your own online meeting.
Join us for a BASICS tutorial on hosting a meeting. We'll explore:
- How to create a meeting and invite participants
- How to assign a co-host (meeting controls)
- How to manage a meeting (microphone and camera features
Top 10 Things Every Meeting HOST should know!: Zoom Intermediate

You've been hosting your meetings online - and want to TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL by creating more engagement with your participants.
Join us for a HOSTING your Zoom INTERMEDIATE tutorial. We'll explore:
- Understand hosting features and controls
- Learn how to use engagement tools (chat feature, raise a hand)
- Use a spotlight video to emphasise your featured speaker
- Explore screen sharing and annotation
- Use polling to engage your participant
Sharing is Caring: The BASICS of How to Manage Your Facebook Group
Wednesday 21 October

Staying connected with your family, friends and your peer support group members is important, especially during these uncertain COVID-19 times. Whilst we can’t meet in person Fight Parkinson’s has set up private Facebook pages for each peer support group to help you stay connected safely online.
Join us for a Learning the BASICS Facebook groups tutorial. We'll explore:
Establishing your group rules
Inviting and accepting your group members
Sharing content on your group page
Creating conversations and moderating comments
Monday 19 October

This fun one hour quiz will feature a mix of general knowledge questions, music trivia, film synonyms and a special 'say what you see' round!
The quiz is on Zoom and answers on Kahoot - a fun way to answer quiz questions using a device.
Sleep and Parkinson's
Wednesday 21 October

How can something so simple, sometimes be so hard? Sleep difficulties are common in Parkinson’s.
Arming yourself with the right tools and knowledge to manage your symptoms is key to living well with Parkinson’s.
Advanced Care Directives
Thursday 22 October
Online 12:00pm - 1:00pm
This session will cover the legal requirements for Advance Care Directives (which supplements your Medical Treatment Decision Maker document) and will also focus on the types of conversations to being having with family and your health team as you work through this process.
